A non-recirculating d.v. vets the boost pressure to atmosphere with the "ptsccchhhh!" noise.

A recirc d.v. routes it back into the intake to the turbo so no "ptsccchhhh!".

Just a question?

Would it not be more useful to recalculate the wasted gas rather than letting it go to atmosphere? Helping build the inlet pressure back up more quickly. Or is the delay not enough to benefit?

I drill holes in everything..!

don't think it makes that much difference on a series tbh, would be interested to see if anyones tried though.

They use this system on all the vag turbo stuff (my to the disappoint of everyone who wants the tisshhh noise)

I think it more for the quietness, you can get a twin piston non-circulating one that works with airflow meters.

It is. If you just dump to atmosphere, the car will run rich because not all of the air it has metered will make it into the cylinders.

just a thought tho, the only time the d.v will be open is with the throttle closed, so it wont be fueling at all? (on an injection car anyways?)

open to criticism, but just my idea:)

If it wasn't fueling at all when the throttle was closed, the engine would shut off every time you let off the throttle. You are always getting enough fuel to at least idle the motor.
