i can buy a new battery every year ive i don't put a charger on it.
i don't think they will take it back afther 3 years. god knows what you have done with it. don't say you did but they don't know that.
but a good battery should put out a healthy 12.4 a 12.5 volts. no engine running.

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

Let them have it Brian.

I tool one back that was struggling to start the car, they put their fancy tester on it and said "theres nothing wrong with it, try charging it up"

I was not best pleased with this reply from them so went home, poured half of the acid out of the cells, then placed it on a 15A boost charge for a few hours.

After that it was definately fucked and when I took it back for the second time they didn't argue.....

They used a fancy tester on mine and told me it needed charging I told them it was charged and wouldnt start my fancy car if it was cold, after a fair bit of arguing I got a new one.

Classic.

I have personally taken at least 2 back to Halfords and had no problems. Try taking it to a smaller store, they don't usually have a battery tester.

Why buy from Halfords in the first place ? Arent their batteries about twice the price of a normal motor factors ?

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Halfords are cheap, very cheap if you have one of those handy Trade Cards.

I also have had no trouble in changing them, only had one bad one though.

They are more expensive, but they do have up to a 4 year guarantee on them, so if you're planning on keeping the car then this could work to your benefit.

Also I should mention that if you happen to spot a dead Halfords battery of the same code as yours at the dump this can be taken back with your receipt to obtain a new one....... *laughing* I fucking hate Halfords so any opportunity to get one over on the bastards is OK with me,,,,,,,,,,,,
