Its no use then.

SPi at standard operating presure is 15psi to start, if its for turbo then your looking at anywhere up to 30psi

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If it helps, I measured the fuel pressure of a standard MPi tank/pump at the intake of the pressure regulator and it measured about 45 psi. If Spi / Mpi tanks/pumps are the same?

TBI systems usually run around 15psi.

Although that is governed by teh fuel pressure regulator. No idea what the pump is actually capable of.

Generally they are nowhere near as good in terms of flow, or pressure making ability as the normal efi style pumps.

If placing a filter before any fuel pump, make sure it has adequate, unrestricted flow ability, otherwise you can cause pump starvation/cavitation, which doesnt do anything any good.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Those are my thoughts exactly when talking about pre oil filter set ups.

Back onto the fuel filter. Thing is we are talking about SPi/MPi tanks here where the pump is in tank, therefore you cannot fit a pre filter. Besides theres one already one on the pump may be not a fully fledged filter but its there.

Have a look on ebay for fuel filters for the likes of Puegeot 206/7, IIRC they have barb fittings for flexi hose/clips/ and are Injection filters anyway. Fit the proper filter for the job*wink*
