Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

leave the puller on really tight overnight. Keep giving the centre bolt a belt with a lump hammer too.

I've only ever heated one to get it off.

Just keep tightening, a bloody long scaffold helps!! lol!

I use a windy gun on mine and works every time.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

do what iain says ALSO ................

heat the flywheel boss in ONE PLACE ONLY !!!! with the puller full floged up *wink*

i use a number 5 tip on my torch gives you some idea of the heat spot required I SAY AGAIN ONE SPOY ONLY

genrall heat all over will not return a result *frown*

stand back well out of the way *surprised*

the reason why it has stuck on because its fretted on with the work!

dress the crank up and boss and lap the flywheel on well before re assembly *wink*

Also try hitting the back of the flywheel through the starter motor hole, while the puller is on, and tight. Keep rotating the flywheel and hit it in different spots.
Use a bit of bar or something, and give it a good belt with a decent sized hammer.

Yep had the same problem, did as Turbo Phil says and tapped the back of the flywheel assembly through the starter motor hole, rotating it and hitting it to give the whole thing equal wallops!

Mine too launched off when it gave and landed on me foot lol!

Beating the flywheel through the starter aperture is a shitty idea. It bends the flywheel. Especially stupid with an ultralight one.

i've hit my ultra light flywheel many times and had it checked, and its fine.

personally i never hit the centre bolt of the puller as it only damages the puller. the way i do it is you load the puller to almost braking point then hit the flywheel through the starter hole, if no luck, heat it with either boiling water or a blow torch and hit again, it will come off. if you hit the puller bolt you put more load on the puller and it brakes

It matters not if it's the standard Verto item that's destined for the scrap pile anyway. *wink*

if its a standard flywheel, hit it with a sledge hammer throught the starter hole, if that does not work, find a bigger hammer

Heat is my new best friend. Nothing stands in my way now with the blow torch in hand.

Phil, you could bend the crank as well, even if the flywheel is destined for the scrappy.

Ive always found a bit of heat, with a heat gun helps, if your in a rush!

Other than that ive left the puller on over night in the past, go back to it in the morning and its off! :)

careful if you smack it through the starter hole, ive chipped flywheels like that before. For me that methods never worked, leaving the puller on overnight has tho. Good luck

I used a mixture of heat and loctite freezing freeway type spray on the crank, came off like a very slippery thing on something more slippery, was very supprised, oh well maybe my a+ base engine for turbo will offer me some problems.
