For the BMW K Head engine im building im looking at using lightweight pistons , preferably bike ones?

Has anyone tried this before? and if so what type were you using.

Have found a couple of 73mm and 73.5mm honda and kawasaki pistons that may be useful but I will have to think about the rods too.

Any info most appreciated

Would any bike rods be useable ???

At least they would defo handle high rpm's !!

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

leeds/wakefield.

it strikes me that theres a lot of 73mm bike pistions sround, all multiply into 1000cc, 250s and 750, but you will need a much longer rod, the pistons iv'e come a cross are 2 ring type and look like a real goer for lightweight install, its just the expence of a pucka set of custom rods to match the two.

What is your plan for these? Is it just to try and get light pistons to aid a high revving engine?

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Try to get something which has no valve cut outs or something that lines up ok .... don't want it to be butchered too much.
