Must be cheap (ie worn lobes) but have good gears and bearing surfaces.

Is this what you are looking for?
Front bearing is a little pitted but diameter is OK
Gears are very good, in fact as you would expect the rear gear is unused.
Spider drive
Send me a fiver for postage and you can have it.
The first BMW headed dry sump eh?

i think most of the original 649's had 2 drives, not sure what the other is for, someone on minimania years ago said it was to drive the fuel pump on the works mechanical injection attempt, but....?

It's for the Mech FI systems driven through the fuel pump holes. Yup!

Dry Sump. Have buggered about with various pick ups and it works bloody well. Need some way of making it "safe" and an accusump is looking good. Can't remember the exact pump but there is one BMC pump which bolts straight up and meshes with the gear. Yeah, Dave, where can I send the cash, can you bung your email address to mrjazzpiano@hotmail.com cheers. I've got a BMW RS head lined up and rather than talk about it, I will show you when I've done it *happy*
