i started adding it all up one day how much ive spent on this mini over the last 2 years, got to almost 6K, shat my pants and hid the receipts away never to be seen again. considering i only did 600 miles after the last rebuild and took it off the road again is a tad scary

My 16v engine only has cost £1700 so far. Without paint my car (with 998) came to around 2.5k but i got a lot of second hand bits and pieces when building it. I reckon total the whole thing is gonna be about £7k with the 16v engine and paint. Scares you when it all adds up.

Cost me about 2k to convert my metro.

£1200 of that was for a gearbox and drops.
£40 For a Recon'd turbo
£200 for the usual bearings and stuff. £100 for the clutch.
£150 for the cam.
£150 for the intercooler and hoses.
£100 for an exhaust
£100 for odds and ends i guess

That said the inital base engine was free
