The car is fast, there is no doubt!

But that driver is sloppy and awful. He is sliding needlessly, missing his apexes, crossing his arms when steering, resting his foot under the clutch pedal, etc. A well trained driver would run circles around this guy in a similarly prepped car. He reminds me of all the rich weekend racers we have here in the US, in their car matching race suits, who get frustrated when a guy like me in an Evo can pass him in his Viper or Ferrari.

Don't get me wrong, the video was cool. Just saying he would be a lot faster if he worked on his technique.

And just because I am American, it doesn't mean I support or condone NASCAR racing in any way. Those guys are mostly uneducated southern rednecks who only know how to turn left. But when cars are driving so closely at 200+mph, bad things can happen.

Give me some F1 or World Rally!

Other examples of PILES OF SHIT driving... *tongue**tongue*

Yes not the most tidy lap ever but you dont always use all the apex when slowed and not on the limit.

I guess the sliding is for the fun factor...

It most certainly is! I've had instructors yell at me for doing that on course in the past. But I was smiling!

sometimes its fun to make the car slid as jon said!
i carnt see how going in an oval could be fun maybe to drive if there capible of 200+ but not that good to watch imo!

was good to watch the first vid, and the second was just mad.

I took 50 laps with a race driving instructor a few weeks back, learnt loads, will hopefully gain from it..

Josh/others, Whether he was going for a fast clean lap or showboating or whatever, his driving technique (what he does with his hands and feet) shows his skill level. If giallofly was doing what the Atom driver did while driving with his course instructor recently, the instructor would quickly correct those behaviors.

I agree with you on the idea that watching cars go in circles is not fun. The crashes are really the only interesting part. But there happen to be a lot of folks in the US and abroad who seem to disagree with us. Do people enjoy watching horse racing over there? NASCAR is no different...just faster. Horses for courses.

Whether anyone was hurt in that NASCAR crash, I am not sure. Those cars are tanks with wheels. So I doubt anything was hurt but fragile egos. huhu
