Id love to get the 5 second mark beaten, acceleration and cornering is everything to me. Top end isnt to important as where can you use it? short gear ratio's would be good aswell I spose. Cheers, Stevo |

I did a 5.7 sec at trax show, but my cars a big heay monster and the wrong diff, so if you had say a usable 150 bhp and a light car running the right diff with a lsd, then i don't see why a 5 sec isn't possible! Turbo dave also did a run and he got 5.1 sec i think and his car isn't stripped out either! Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Hmmmph, seems a bit pointless having all the power and not being able to do anything with it ?? 9 valves, 4 wheel drive, 3 cylinders, 1 turbo, which got nicked |

i agree mate to a point, but my car hasn't been built for 1/4 racing or 0-60 times:) but if i met you on the ROAD from 30 MPH up wards then i would be able to use some of it, and then the power Really is useful, there aren't many Minis that can keep up with a 400 bhp Cossie 30 to 110 mph Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Exactly , we all build are cars for different reasons .
Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

Hmm... interesting thread. I'm working slowly on my turbo conversion and have been pondering this very issue.

If you want a quick 0-60 you need to do it with one gearchange only, and have a close ratio between those two gears....
