Everytime I try to start up Megatune this appears:

no i know that the MJLJ is connected to COM3, and I know thats what Ive got it set to in comunications...

I dont speak computer, so was hoping someone could tell me what the fuck this means?

(tried searching MSEFI and even google doesnt bring anything up)

If anyone canhelp Id be exremely appreciative

I should also mention that if I change it to COM1 or COM2 in COmmunications (but have nothing attached to those ports) the problem goes away, so its definately the MJLJ causing the computer to spit this out...i think...?

i think its something to do with the code variant i should be using, Ive gone into car1 and tried "# set" next to all the different types now but with no sucess..

ive not done anything like this with computers before, all a massive learning curve...

Does anyone know what code variant i should be using?

Its a MJLJ V2....i presumed it would be either MSNEDIS or MSNEDISmod, but neither of these want to play ball?

Anyone??

I though MegaTune was only for MegaSquirt, not Mega Jolt.

This is the config software I'm using:

Also for some reason my MJ comes up as being on com port 7, but I'm guessing that's down to my USB adaptor.

Most OS / USB-serial adapters combinations default to either COM7 or COM8. Causes me untold problems at work with older software that doesn't have port configuration options!!!

I only had a 5 minute play with one of Rob's MJlj's and it all worked first time for me once I'd got the port ID's set-up. It's one of those things that if it seems right it probalby is ... if it seems wrong, have a cuppa whilst you think it through and it'll soon be running!!!!

Good luck matey

Wow, that looks a much nicer layout than Megatune.

How do you know when its 'talking' to the mjlj?

does it pop with a window confirming it? or anything, only ive tried all 10 ports now and nothing, maybe im expecting something to happen that wont...?

Take a look at this post on the megajolt forum, i had a similar problem with the 3.0 software (which i believe is being sorted) but the software that 4600cc posts works fine with my usb/serial adaptor. Worth a try.

That is the back ground air pressure (not sure if that's the correct technical term) in a prefect vacuum it will reach 0. So when you're driving off boost the reading will fall bellow 100 (as there's a vacuum) and when you start to come onto boost the reading will go up.
