Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Think they're M8 so should be easy to get. I could be wrong though.

As Iain says they're M8 as sold in any hardware store, even B&Q!

If you've got a mirage manifold it'll come with 4 k-nuts; 2 are 5/16th (to fit the manifold to the head) & 2 are M8 (to fit the turbo to the manifold) for everywhere else normal nuts will suffice. Note M8 nuts look identical to 5/16th and caused me loads of grief.

K-Nuts are the ones to go for if you can be bothered to get hold of them. They are compact and use a smaller spanner or socket. 8mm nuts use a 10mm socket, 5/16 use a 3/8 socket. This is handy where space is tight to get to them. Not cheap, expect to pay around 40-50pence each.

They are also a proper lock nut, they are much better than a nyloc, not that you can use nylocs on your manifolds.

Be carefull buying cheap nuts from shops as they could be a very poor grade of steel and not all that strong.

You can get silver K-nuts that have a higher temp tolerance, these are even pricer at about a quid each.

Can you recomend a source? The place I normally get my hardware from is quoting significantly more than that .... I guess they are taking advantage of the fact we are in an areospace area :(

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I use Merlin Motorsport over at Castle Combe, although that a bit of a long journey just for a couple of nuts.

God, don't quote me on the price !! lol. I just buy them and dont really look at the cost. But i think it's about right for that size, they get more expensive as they get bigger and smaller, i bought some 3mm ones a while ago and they were over a quid each i think !!!!

I think the metrics may be more than the imperial. I think the imperial is all import from the states and is made in huge volumes. Metrics i think are made for euro aero industry and cost more !! typical.

Try

http://www.tridentracing.co.uk/

They will post

They carry a good range of good bolts and other fasteners. They have a good range of cap heads, these are minimum i would use in a stressed component eg. on suspension etc. All bolts are branded Holo-Krome or Unbrako.

I have to admit to a bit of a fastener Fetish !!!! lol I drool at a 12 point Nas.

Yes it's Rich.
