""However, one thing you should appreciate is that the open chamber small bore heads have the largest combustion chamber of all heads at 28.3cc.""
vizard humself..
""On the other hand, a 12G940 casting starts off life at 21.4cc""
so pocketing a 998 and fitting a largebpre head means adding 6.9cc's..
*happy*

28.3cc might be a 12G295 head, but not a standard 998.

According to the above the pockets will be 28.3-21.4+6.9 = 13.8cc. That is a mighty big pocket!

sorry i was just trying to out do you.. *tongue*
i was waiting on my pipette kit in the post so i can get some hardfacts down but theyre out of stock..

ring land volume is the capacity between the piston and the bore in the space between the top piston ring and the top of the piston crown..
gasket volume is part of the combustion chamber,
eg. 65mm bore with 1mm thick headgasket (copper) then

π(3.14) x radius of bore(3.25cm) squared, times depth(0.01cm)

somethink somethink.. too wasted.
