Is it their ID or OD thats measured?

are they universal, or do they come with different flange diameters?

Thanks

Joe

i think the v-band size relates to the pipe to which it is connecting, typically the OD of the pipe (or it is in the pipes I've been involved with in the past)

i'm sure you can get stuff knocked up on a bespoke basis, i'm sure its just an angle and area function for both the halves

when i looked ages ago there is was a draft british standard for v-bands but it wasn't available for viewing

i've got a patent being filed at the minute for a revised v-band, so might find out some more once its gone through

yeah, ive bought 2 x 2.5" v-bands

Both have a 2.5" ID (or OD of pipe theyre being fitted to), but one had a 3" OD of the flange, and the other sports a 3.5" OD flange.

in short, i need a flange that has an ID of 2.5" and OD of 3" and a v-band to go around the 3" circumference.

Anyone know of any uk suppliers? not keen on ordering 'blind' from the states...

Cheers

right mate been doing some digging around. cant seem to get any spot on. basically you want a 3" v band????? (that being the pipe size, not the flange size.)

not quite, the flange needs to be 3" OD and 2.5" ID (for 2.5" pipe)

for this:

not quite, i need a 2.5" V band, but the flange needs to be 3" OD (and 2.5" ID for 2.5" pipe)

for this:

I have bought a couple of 2.5" v band sets from america, but when the turned up they had a massive 3.5" OD:

...so no good...

Im finding it next to impossible to track any donw on the web (in the uk anyway) so any info would be tops.

Cheers Stu

right. been doing some looking around mate. the smallest i can find at the mo are 35mm across the pipe diameter when closed up. i think i might know where there is a smaller one, but i will need to have another look. how desperate are you????
