I think these pistons may be what Minispares call the Mega piston, but in the dished 20773 pattern.

Very good value for money.

Hang on Carl,

4 rings may not be ideal for your high revving N/A setup but for a low revving high boost engine, you wont notice the difference.

If your building a 998 turbo and wish to use the 12g940 head, then this is about the only dished piston option available.

leeds/wakefield.

the 1275 cc pistons look like they could be a go'er, it does look like they are solid skirt and 3 rings,
they are certainly not the mega piston though.

i syill would not use a 4 ring piston,old hat .

I thought hypatec made the pistons designed by Graham Russel? If these are those, they are cheap, as thats the same piston minispares are now selling as EVO. They are a 3 ring slipper design piston.

That's the point I'm trying to make.

Minispares Mega pistons are made by Hypatech - it says so on the Minispares website.

I was told when I was trying to buy some Mega pistons that they were waiting for the boat from Australia.

If the pistons that I listed above are the Mega version of the 20773 then they are good value.

It depends if Hypatech make a different grade of pistons for performance applications.

Wil_h and Ben_h have used the 4 ring 20773s for the last 5 seasons and only ran into trouble with them last year, but that is blamed on the T2.

These are NOT the Mega version that Minispares sell. These look like the standard 20773s that I have used for the last few seasons.

The megas have different skirts and rings to these ones. But are identical to a set of 20773s in my garage.

the 20773s lasted well with the T3 (3 seasons). I think that they are more than up to the job of a 120bhp motor running a reasonably efficient compressor.
