ok i may be reading too much into this, but am i part of some witch hunt here ?

i will bore you all with the details i know you will give me a solid answer.

a new kid turned up at the club, he was blanked by everyone there so i kinda took him under my wing and sat with him, a week or so later he was after an exhaust system, so i had a rumage about and found a maniflow lcb, a 2" pipe with cherry bomb (all tig welded up) and a new stainless center exit back box, a new k and n element and an osselli inlet, so i though i 8nt using em i will offer them on the forum, i worked out what the clobber cost new then took a bit off (as the manifolds and back box and element were new) old bit being the pipe. i asked for 150 for the lot (fitted) now if you read through the thread see if you think there is any hostility and by who ? i know i am wrong on occasions (regarding performace issues) but the lad said he wasnt after performance mods just a nice sounding exhaust. the job would have been 45 mins but the lad was new to minis, it was dark and it rained it took me 7 hours finished at midnight !!!!

you will always get criticism from people that get all their info from books and websites, but if it works and sounds good, what more can you ask for? sounds like a bargain to me!
maybe when he's won a few traffic light grand prix he'll be happier!

Personally I think you're reading too much into it.

I've heard that people were talking shit about the st1 kit at the meet richie, i dont know who and i dont know why but it stinks mate. I think a lot of the people there just talk out of there arse. Most of em have changed the oil and filters and think they're dave vizard or summat. Jobs on cars rarely simple and easy (especially on minis) and because most of the members pay other people to do the work they dont factor this in. Just ignore it mate, i know you gave it your moneys worth plus interest. The new kids had so much shit spouted at him that he dont know what he's got.

I've been out all day pissin about fitting new hilos and shocks to a car where everything is seized, and i'm cut, bruised and aching but you can bet according to our club members it should be a 2 minute job for about 3 pence.

I dont think your in the wrong personally mate. At the end of the day if hed have gone somewhere else to have one fitted and supplied he would have paid way more! And that guy onna bout the cherry bomb is talking out of his ringer.

I wouldnt worry about it.

sounds like he got what he paid for!
its not your fault he went to get it set up and the bloke changed aload of bits!
he should of got you to fit it for £150 as you offerd to do so, then got a needle that would make it run better!
i havent had mine RRed and i just bolted on a st1 kit from huddersfeild and fitted the needle that cam with it! think it was a AAU. it runs well, a bit rich in places but its save and its good on fuel.
i paid £175 i think and had to fit it myself!
i dont see the problem in what youv done myself!! youv saved him a bit of cash and im sure he learnt somthing??

some people dont have a clue!!

Mini parts are so cheap in comparison! I'd dream to have something like that fitted as well for £150. Sounded to me like some of that lot just wanted to have a little argument. Just don't read that thread anymore, I think you did right.
