Red Lead, or Red Oxide as its also known is shit hot for rust protection and priming. Benross swears by it.

Near Daventry, midlands

i've painted the entire underneath of my car in por15, but havent taken it out yet.

If the metal under the car is rusting its best to get rid of as much as you can before painting, chopping out isnt always necessary, but can be if the rust has really set in. Personally i bush it all off and use a good rust converter, then if i were you i'd paint it with a pure etch primer followed by a suitable undercoat.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

Do u have to put the primer and undercoat before u add the por15 ?

you can buy a po15 thats a rust killer and primer in one thats quite handy as its pricey stuff

ive always used the killer then a seperate primer (por15) then bodycolour then clear dimatrol

saying that ive not put clear dimatrol on the underside of the mini ... yet anyway

Mark,

Best stuff I have found is FE123 from Rust Busters ( www.rust.co.uk ) then paint with POR15 thinned as they suggest and sprayed on (can get a good finish if your good with a gun), flat it back then 2pk base and clear. Once done clear Dinitrol is the muts nuts. Might as well do all the box sections with Dinitrol whilst your ordering, it's brilliant and compared to to wax-oil (spit - spit ..... how can I express how much I hate that crap!!!) it's easy to use, stays where you put it and works .... 3 things I can't say about wax-oil!!!!!

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Yes you can .....

If you use the products supplied by Rust Busters and Frost as per their recomendations you can't go far wrong.

I have the kit for doing a proper application of the dinitrol system .... sure I could do something for you when it's on the road and you can get it too me ..... for a special TM price obviously!!! *wink*

Depends what you wanted done obviously but rest assured you'd not be paying a huge amount over the cost of the materials ...... mates and tM members only get charged cost plus beer..

(2) Por15
(3) POR15 Chassis Coat, to add ontop of the Por15

http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?pro...5&frostubCatID=

(4) Which Dinitrol should i use.. something that's an all rounder that can be used for under the car, and also in the door seal's etc :)
Is it the Dinitrol Corroheat 4010 - Clear Wax Treatment ?

It is best to use the best product for the job rather than try to do all jobs with one product.

The one you mention is designed to use on engine bays etc. It works very well but is a bit expensive to use for the whole car!!!!

I've never understood waxoyl, it always turns into a race against time to get it on the car before it goes solid in the applicator. And if you use the duff tube thing for box sections etc it just goes hard in the tube and blocks up. Upon saying that I still use it, prob because I have a whole tin left to use up!

Mark .... if you go to www.rust.co.uk and follwo their advice you'll get a good result.

They do a clear surface treatment that is not on their website yet, brilliant for underfloor.

I'll try to find my catalogue tomorrow and post up what I use ..... I really can't remember the numbers off the topof my head to the moment...
