It is sutable for a mini yes. But for me it is a bit expensive. You can buy a full SC gearset from minispares for £300. As the gearbox for sale there is over £300 and needs a rebuild you would be better off buying a new gear set and getting an old box rebuilt. It will be cheeper and you will know what you have is good.

Not quite, its a remote type box as fitted between the magic wand and rod change type boxes.

The box fitted to all none cooper Mk1s, gear lever came through base of front bulk head ..... had to be a magician to find 1st hence the nick name!!!

majic wand = gear lever goes straight into the box (pretty much)

Remote = gear lever goes into an ally casting that comes out of the back of teh box and runs under the car.

rod change = gear lever goes down into a box which has 2 rod's comeing out of it, these 2 rods then go to the gearbox. the rod's are exposed from underneath the car.

the gearbox on ebay is a "remote" type.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
