During my engine rebuild I had just mounted the gearbox and I spun the crank to check all was well, it wasn't despite doing a dry fit. After I torqued it down I was just hitting something Grrrr..I thought, the central pickup.. and then it cleared.

this is why you have to use S rods or short stroke or similar when you build a 8 port engine with push rods:) |

Is that because the cam timing is so different that the lobes interfere??
