I have a dust shield left over from my Verto, Any reason not to use this on my Pre-verto setup? If it fits I cant see it doing any harm. Anyone done this??

not a bad idea to put one on IMO,

if the eal does spring a leak, it'll help throw the oil outwards rather than it oozing up the primary gear and onto the clutch plate.

On the verto there is a plastic shield that slips over the primary gear splines, It covers the primary gear seal and helps prevent the dust getting to the seal which would act like grinding paste. as said above I guess it would also throw any seeping oil away from the clutch plate so all in all a good thing...
