Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and have a few questions.
Has anyone done this before?
I have seen a Mini with a Ford V6 and 4x4 running gear, but guess a cossie engine would be a better engine for tuning purposes.

And what is the actual weight and width of the mini?

Christian,
ISTr the typical weight of a mini is around 700kg, probably a little bit less.
The width of the engine bay is approx 30" wide and its about 20" deep.
The problem with fitting such engines is that then engine takes up the whole bay, and you end up with the gearbox (which is about a metre long) running down the centre.
In a 4wd, youve also got the cente diff and front drive shaft to feed back to a front diff, which needs to sit below the engine block forcing you to lift the engine up.
I dont belive you can fit a longitudinal 4wd system in a mini, without making it taller & wider.
A transverse 4wd system is however a different matter.

9 valves, 4 wheel drive, 3 cylinders, 1 turbo, which got nicked
