Rockers Tappets and split nuts !...

Hi all
I was adjusting my rockers today ( forged 1.5 ratio rockers )
and the nut split on the tappets ...
Its wierd its a 7/16 nut but no other 7/16 nuts in my stash fit over the slotted head ( even after removing the burrs )
ANyone now if it is some kind of special nut??

i think thet are kieth dodd 1.5 ratio rockers ...
I tried a m6 was to small and a m8 was to big
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhh

In which case you meant to say it's a 5/16 nut!

5/16 UNF I'm guessing. It might have had the threads truncated for some reason but surely the head is smaller than the root of the thread?!?!?!

i will have to have a rummage in my box of bits ....
I dont know why but i just cant find anything to fit it ...
WOuld you expect them to be imperial or metric ?

Are these rockers any good ? else i was thinking of getting some roller rockers

Rockers should be fine mate .... opinion is divided on roller tips, I for one don't use them on anything unless it's going to be a high rever.

Would expect it to be imperial but some after market parts use metric for their specific components as the fasteners are generally cheaper.
