I started stripping my engine down to paint the other weekend and I discovered that to take the turbo off along with the manifold I would have to remove this pipe that connects on to the top of the turbo/manifold.

When I turned it the pipe unfortunately turned too and it seems that I have broken the pipe.

I didn’t want to remove it from the engine side in case I messed up the setting.

I take it that its some sort of oil feed to the turbo and can be manually adjusted?

What is the best way of removing it from the engine without mucking up the setting as I don’t want to adjust it?

Also where can I buy a new pipe?lol

Thanks in advance. Any help would be much appreciated.

James.

It is indeed the oil feed, not sure what you mean by adjusting it? You can buy braided turbo oil feed hoses from all over the place to replace that pipe.

https://www.speedgenie.co.uk/avonbar/mainFrameset.html -avonbar (good but not always the cheapest so shop around

on avonbar site look in turbo link on the left then look in turbo accessories

Thanks very much. A braided one would be much better. Will do that.

All i meant by adjusting it was that it seems to be a valve thing on the front of the engine but i guess it just unscrews from the block.

Erm, i wasn't going to go for a full rebuild as the engine was running fine before it came out of the car apart from the fact it was running a bit rich. I was just gonna replace all the seals and gaskets then rebuild the carb and see what happens.
