hi sorry about the gear pic posts, but this is my first gearbox rebuild so i dont really know whats acceptable.



on the area highlighted on my 1st gear there is uneven wear, as ridges can be seen at the other side but it is shiny and flat here, will this cause me problems? should I try and source a decent second hand one?

Btw I am fitting new baulk rings and bearing etc.

That area isn't in contact with anything. Use it.

yer thats what i thought when i was looking at the baulk ring, but needed confirmation - i'm a chicken..., how do you think this happened then? could it be worn mainshaft bearings?

the marked area will be fine but the syncro teeth looks a bit chewed but cant quiet see properly from the photo.

but should be ok.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

^^^^ as he said - get us a better pic of the clutching teeth; it might be the pic, but they do look a little ropey?

I don't agree. They look OK. Not new, but OK. I'd use that.
