Pulled this from one of our machines at work the other week. It made a rather alarming screech on start up but once running it was fine.

You can see where the impellor was just fouling the diffuser, not much by all acounts but enough.

Thats a £10,000 impellor*happy*

*laughing* Its not a Turbo, more a supercharger, and its not for an engine. Its a centrafugal water chiller compressor. The physics of it are the same however, just a LOT bigger.
