First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

im in a bit of a pickle with my fuel pipes!

what size id are the pipes supposed to be running from the regualtor to the carb? i thought 8mm but the carb nipply bits (!) are too small and the pipe is a loose fit, is it just a case of clamping up the pipe really tight, or do i run a smaller pipe?

thanks

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Use smaller pipes. Whatever fits does the job, Shold be a push fit, usually very tight at the regulator end!!

You'll get enough fuel easy enough. *smiley*

You need to get to machine mart and buy some 'heel bars' first off!
As well as being totally usefull, the main section of these ends up in a nice, long taper.
Fill the kitchen sink with hot water, and immerse a lenth of 1/4" (6mm will do at a pinch) hose in it. Pick the mediun bar, and smear grease over the taper. Take hose out of the water, and ram, twist, push, etc (!) the heel bat taper into one end of the hot hose.
When it's gone as far as poss, pop it back in the water, adding some more piping hot water from the kettle at the same time.
A few minutes later, pull the lot out, remove the heel bar, re-grease and re-ram, twist, push, etc!

After a few attempts, your 1/4" hose will be around 8mm ID and slip nicely over the regulator connections (once you've removed the grease from the inside of course!)

They will contract pretty quick, but it looks really smart and proffesional when finished.

Incidentally, I ONLY use hose rated for fuel injection applications on turbo installs. You can buy it by the metre from Demon Tweeks, or maybe a (helpful) motor factors...
The stuff for 'carburettor' cars is NOT suitable for ANY of the fuel or pressure signal lines from the carb or regulator...
