had car out two days ago no problems
today i go to start it and it's overfueling
i removed the dashpot with the needle and
should there be fuel coming out of the
needle seat ?
any suggestions ?

no there shouldnt. your needle valve is knackered or has crap stuck in it.

You get a new one in the rebuild kit, which is wise to rebuild anyway as a matter of course.

May also be worth verifying your fuel pressure output from the regulator, which should be between 3.5 - 4 psi. Theres no reason I believe for your pressure to change if the regulator adjustment screw is locked up, but its certainly worth getting the pressure set right.

If you suspect some crap in the float valve, then turn off the fuel pump and let the engine run out of fuel. Then reconnect the pump, the pressure should clear the float valve.

Its worth taking off the carb and checking the float height is correct. This can make a massive difference to fuel economy and performance too!
