ok, although on a tight budget, i am considering going the MJLJ route.
Questions.
1) does this system still utilise the dizzy, or do i blank it off ?
2) what do i need ?
3) is it greatly beneficial to me ie reliability and running quality ? i have 1275 engine with phase 2 cam running 12psi - 14psi boost (when completed)
4)how much does the kit usually go for ?
5) are the maps fixed or does the module have the facility for "Live mapping" via laptop when the car is being used ?

1. The Mj does not use the dizzy or the drive (important to remove), and is blanked off.

2. From a ford Fiesta or similar 95 ish you need a coilpack (NOT red one), EDIS module and VR sensor.

You will also need a 36 toothed crank pulley and a bracket to hold sensor in postion. And of course the MJ unit itself.

3. MJ shiould be more reliable as it is far more modern components being used, but saying that I have never had a problem with my Dizzy. Lol

4. I paid 100 quid for the MJ unit, 70 for pulley and bracket, and about 30 for Ford parts, as I was lazy and couldn't be arsed to take them off myself. LOl

5. Im unsure on the mapping side, as I haven't had my setup yet, will find out in two weeks though. :)

When you take into consideration that you can sell you dizzy now, it makes the conversion really cheap for the advantages!

I'd certainly make sure MJlj is on your build list as what it costs you will be more than made up for by the improved ignition control allowing a higher CR thus better economy and also the improved drivabiltiy and reliability over a dizzy.

If your think of a front mounted rad in a round nose then it's nearer essential than desirable IMHO as even though you might get it all in ..... have fun working on the dizzy afterwards!

yeah it is going to be a massive front rad, so i guess that is my route to take then :)
