read somewhere that 2" exhaust piping can be good for intercooler pipes. now then.

2" link pipe - £20ish
cossy intercooler - £25ish

as its all cheap, is it possible to get hold of a pipe bender, cut and bend a link pipe to go where-ever in engine bay, then weld the pipe to the intercooler only leaving the carb end needing a sleeve/jubilee clip?

in theory, if it was a case of that, that means the pipe would be clear without links all the way thru so could be wrapped in heat resistant tape (or something) to maintain desired temperature.

make sence?

as far as ive seen most IC's have alloy end caps, not sure you can weld steel to them. plus some of em have plastic end caps.

for the cost of a £5 2" silicon joiner it aint worth the hassle tbh.

if you want to be even cheaper, a straight length of 2" exhaust pipe would be cheaper than a link pipe.
