NOT s/c box, diff and drop gears.

The helical box is more than up to it, infact some would argue it is stronger. I wouldn't want you spending 500 squid on a straight cut box, then still busting the dropps and diff pin in a few miles.

I like nice quiet girly Minis

If you are very careful with the way to build up the transfer gears, making sure you use the best bearings and shim everything up ok you'll get away with it no problem in my experience.

The car I am building for my girlfriend is going to be running standard transfer gears.

The diff however is a non starter, get a 4pin from teh off as it will save you time, money and grief in the long run!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

a minispares or a tranx x pin diff is the one you want!
iv only heard good things about them, not sure if anyone has broken one yet?
its the side loading on the bearings that brakes the drop gears, and also the gearbox. but the drop gears are the weaker of the two i think.
