hi i need one of the admins help as ive just taken out my insurance policy and it says i need an owners club valuation, it quotes (this must be from an owners club and on thier own headed paper)

so i was wandering can one of you guys on admin have a form of some sort that you can email me to print out as im sure other guys have or must have asked for one before.

its pretty diffucult to explain how much the car is worth over text like this but ive pout in for requested value of 2600 as this i feel is fair and not to toehr the top. The body work is tidy no rust, although personally in need of respray soon, i have 13, by 7 ultralight( yes i no 13inch rims sorry) they were on it when i bought it, it has sports pack arches, the turbo engine is new rebuilt throughout, rebuilt gearbox (standard, well gt series ratios), minispares cross pin diff, straight cut drop gears, grey diagrhram, new pistons 40thou, umm the rest is standard internally, umm obv 4 pot brakes and vented discs, intercooler, new 2 core rad, mega jolt. interior is standard apart from cream leather front seats worth alot of money from a jag. i think thats it. well the main bits, if any other things just ask but would you say thats fair price 2600 to ask for, and if it is can you right me an owners club valuation to match and or for more if you feel its worth more. i would add photos but i cant so if you want a few then i can send you them via email.

cheers, hope you can help

and asap as i was ment send it back a while ago.

As AlexF is a registered business and an admin on here, he is probably your best bet.

Firstly I think your under valueing your car!!!

Secondly which insurance company is it? HIC do the agreed valuation themselves via photographs. It's only if there are major structural modification (such as a rwd conversion etc.) should you be asked for an engineers report or club letter!

It might be worth joining a club as most clubs are recognised and insurance companies give them a discount. For example my club gets 12% off from HIC which for £12 per year is a bargin for most.
You would probably have to join but I am sure I could get you a valuation from pictures via our club (would probably get asked to write it myself ........ ).

Worth considering.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

its with adrian flux. they sent me a form with all the other documents asking what the car was worth. im sure once they see the car pictures and see what ive asked for agreed value then they may up it or just accept that. do you think i should ash for more as i dont want to push it though. so where do i go from here can you right me a valuation roger? or shall i speak to alex, will he likely read this soon do you think. i have pictures i cannot upload them i tried before and failed miserably. i can email them to one you guess if you want to put them up

honestly i wouldn't use AF again. They are such a nightmare to deal with. Given the choice i'd go for classic car insurance through HIC, mega cheap and a pleasure to deal with. :)

Oh no they aren't!!!!!!!

They use the same underwriters (as many do for modified cars) but that is as far as it goes.

You might find that the two are linked through the major share holders ... but that is perfectly normal in the financial world.

I would rather walk than insure any car with AF.

I have posted before about the 2 year legal battle I had to get compensation for their poor representation of me in dealling with a definate non-fault claim!!!

Stay well clear .... well clear!

That is my personal view ... others may have other experiences which were better than mine.

I was going to go Hic rather than adrian flux however as I am 19 the differences in premium was £600. As I am with adrian flux I had better drive carefully then!

I can't believe you can't get a decent quote at 19?

I had mine insured as a turbo, all mods, agreed valuation for a tad over 200 quid!

I tried to insure it this year using my NCB but it ended up 100 quid more, as they had to go through another company!
