My engine has been sat on a trolley in the garage for ages and I've noticed some white manky crust (don't know the technical term :) ) around the water temp sender hole in the alloy head.

Is it worth trying to flush the water galleries before I get it running again and what should should I use?

Thanks

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

In the past I have used neat anti-freeze (the sort you mix up yourself to the desired concentration) and left it in place for 24 hours, obviously with all openings to the coolant system blocked up.

I then flush it through with clean water under mains water pressure. Bottle brush out the openings and then flush again.

Should be ok then.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
