By exhaust is blowing out slightly from the elbow at the bottom of the downpipe. Is there anyway to fix this, there is no holes, just seems to be a slight escape around the knuckle......exhaust paste????

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

yeah no real way to solve it, exhaust paste just goes hard and they're will just crack when it moves. Wouldnt of thought it should leak that much if its fairly new though.

the rest of the exhaust is brand new, just not that part.

Could i just weld it in a fixed position?

I've often found some downpipes, even from the same manufacturer, to be different in how they fit...
I personally have a bottom 'steady' on my downpipe, the same principle as used on the better LCB's.
For your case, if you can see it isn't sitting square to the elbow when you offer it up without the clamp in place, then I'd cut a thin section out of it, bend it a little, and re-weld it.

This is of course assuming you've modified your clamp to suit the larger downpipe, rather than the 1 3/4" downpipe it was designed for...

Also a small tip that i have picked up. If you get a new downpipe, or keep the old one, run some coarse wet n dry around the top of the downpipe to makeit smoothe, you can rub away the weld that runs down the inside and any other imperfections, i know that the cast elbow isnt perfect, but doing this to mine made a huge difference, still very slightly blows but its a huge improvement. Hope this is of some help. And the bottom steady that dave has mentioned is also a good idea.
