Here's goes possibly a stupid question but thought i'd ask anyway.

I need a couple of new copper washers for my turbo oil feed banjo bolt, i don't reckon i'll have much luck trying to source any tomorrow so can i just make my own?

was thinking of flattening out a bit of copper pipe and cutting a piece out with a hole drilled through it. Is this gonna work or just be a waste of time?

I needed them urgently and had skill to do it and the brains to think of it in the first place I would do it. Can't see how it would be any different as long you make them the right size.

After you have bashed it about for a while it'll need anealing, easy enough with a blow torch though.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

well i'm going to pop out in a bit and see if there's any motor factors open...if not i'll see halfords have got any of them expensive plastic tat boxes with any in.

roger, is that annealing with a blow torch just heating it up then dunking it in some water, or do you let it cool naturally?

You may have trouble drilling the hole in such thin copper dude, it will snag very easily .

Quenching any hot metallic material generally causes it to harden, if you want it soft let it cool slowly in air.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

yup, oven is best, then switch it off and leave it in there to cool with the oven, much better than cooling in cool air.
