Chaps ...

Gotta quik question ....

as some may know ; I know have a up and running MiniTurbo !!

The only electrics I had to do was wire in the Metro Dizzy
the black and the black and white ... Both of these i connected to the coil and away she went !
I must have got the + and - the correct way ; as it worked ;

I have noticed that my RevCounter from a three pod dash ; is very eratic ;;

come of teh revs and idle and it will jump around between 2000-3000 then 1000-2000 then 2000-3000 and so on until it comes home to 1000

the engine is unaffected by this ; Ie the engine is just ticking over nice and constant !

Does anyone have a clue what this can be ?

It loks to me as if the Tach works from the + side of the coil via a pink wire ...
Most tachs i have played with work on the - side of a coil

Please guys any help always greatly received

check your coil connections because i think it might still run if you get them the wrong way around! tachos as far as im aware need to be connected to the negative side of the coil (mine does anyway) are the other connector to the tacho ok mine has an ignition live, an earth, and another which goes to the negative side of the coil *smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

when i wire in a rev counter, im lazy and usually earth its shell, and run 2 core wire to either side of the coil for the rev counters ignition live and pulsed negative. Mayb thats how yours is wired in.

Chaps ....
Checked all my connections ...
Even wired even another Revcounter with new connections
Put an additional earth strap on ..

and both bastad rev counters danced around all over the place ....

My pickup has the same electronic ignition dizzy from a metro and it is as good as gold ....

Anyone have any suggestions as its really pissing me off now !!!

I was wrong about the connections by the way ; the black and white goes to the dizzy to the coil and to the tach

and the tach has two + connections a pink ; and another (think its white /yellow)

PLEeeeeassse

Have you got a ballast resistor? If so, are you running the metro ignition from the coil supply? If the answer to both of these is yes try supplying the ignition module wth a proper 12V supply rather than 9Vish from the coil.

I thank you.

I knew I'd get something right one day if I posted enough replies.
