I always use washing power - Areal/Persil type stuff.

Sprinkle it on and leave it. Let it soak in. Next rain shower will clean it up.

Sometimes takes a couple of applications. It works on concrete so it should be OK on Tarmac.

Cheers guys some good ideas, it seems washing powder is a common one, is biological the stuff to go for as it has enzymes in to eat grease?

i normally use the good old washing powder, but i did try some gunk driveway cleaner, did seem to work quite well, maybe a bit better than washing powder... hard to tell on my drive though... it does spend most of its time looking like a Squids jizzed all over it, LOL.

Yes can get some stuff called "oil patch remover"

if you get the oil early after the spil, it really works!

I would use a good degreaser then spray it with a pressure washer.

Can people above confirm that they have used the washing powder in Tarmac please.

Concrete is much more robust when cleaning and less suceptible to damage. I also have an oily patch that needs a clean, but I'm wary of using something then the drive falling to pieces.

Got a tarmac drive at home, and in the last week since I washing powdered it it hasn't fallen to pieces!

Brake Cleaner. Works wonders.

Don't buy the aerosol cans either, get down your local motor factors and pick up a gallon drum for a few quid more than a little can costs.
