Hi guys, i did search but didnt get the answer i needed, now are mini and metro speedo drives different? buggered if i can get it to slot in! I have an austin metro engine in my mini with a toyota supercharger feeding it and the only thing keeping me off the road is the speedo cable

can i mod the mini cable to fit the metro box?

Yes,The metro one is a smaller square,change the drive where it comes out the gearbox it's only one bolt.

Your box must be out a mk2 metty, as they are smaller on the MK2 metros with valeo clocks

cool thanks for that, now i have to pull everything apart lol.... my supercharger pullys make it a real hassel getting hands down there,

Metro was a 1989, must be mark 2 as the balljoints were too bit to fit my minis suspension arms,

oh well back into the shed.,......

Just as well you didn't getit to fit else your car would have handled like a soggy bread roll ..... the geometry of the Metro hubs is totally different to the Mini

hahah soggy bread roll lol.... i talked to the cert guy yesterday and he said a bike speedo will be ok to get it road legal so im going to buy one this arvo, now for you guys that have fitted these is it best to put the magnet/sensor inside the drum or on the outside of the drum?

On an inner CV joint so that the cable is subject to potential problems as the suspension moves.

My kit runs a hall effect sensor on the prop shaft, never had a problem. I know a few people mounting them out board on the suspension who have had cable problems.

Pays your moeney and takes your choice I guess.

the sensor on the one i just bought is quite large, almost the size of my pinky finger lol, i think im gng to put it on the rear drum, well attempt to anyway.... just need a speedo to work long enough to get it road legal
