ive just found out my parents have been suffering in silence with nuicence neighbours

14 months ago 3 students moved in next door to the biddies, one of the students parets bought the house and the other two rent rooms

bar belting the living shit out of them and getting banged up what devious things can i do? ive reported to council but under my name and address but as i work for the council i know what action they will take .... feck all

it will take alot to annoy students-but hit them where it hurts -their wallet

Get an unregistered pay as you go sim and start ordering things like pizzas, taxis and all other sorts

its a shame to have to waste other peoples time and money on them though


could you get up on the roof and drop some fish or shit down the chimney (though on second thoughts with your luck, get a mate to do it)

I know a mini which had an asbo threatened on it due to the noise.

Have you considered just going round and having a chat? I know that there are some real arseholes about these days but you never know, they might be reasonable people and they aren't realising that they are upsetting your parents with their behaviour?

My next action would be to try and get hold of the owners of the house to see if they will act to resolve the problem.

I'd go with Tom's adive too. Try Mr nice guy first, then maybe chat to the lads parents who own the house.

Speak to the Uni. The Uni should do somthing about it as they have a responsiblity to keep there students inline. Mite not work but its worth a try.

The nice approach first but bare in mind that one of the kids parents own the house so I can't see you getting a lot of joy if you go to them. Reasonable behaviour is all your requesting and there are a couple of laws and regulations which you could work through to get it. I had all sorts of problems with some of my neighbours, as did everybody in the area. The only course of action was to get them in front of a judge for violation of the rights you have to enjoy your own property. It took a while but they got an injunction against them in the end. The middle son breached that in the first week and spent 2 months inside for his trouble.

It depends what they are doing but you have to get evidence and numbers on your side.

Get a video camera set-up (but make sure that you don't show the footage to anybody other than people dealing with the case as that can be a breach of privacy rights), take lots of pictures, get the evidence forms from the council and use those to record activity, get the other neighbours to do the same.

It's a slow job but one you have to do or else you end up trapped. You want to move but the house value is effected so you can't or you want to stay but have to live in misery.

One of my neighbours had their house on the market and even at £40k under market value the problem came up on searches and everybody dropped out!!

I wish them all the best, it's a crappy position to find your self in and you feel so helpless. It almost finished my relationship with Candice as she would spend all night awake and we just fought. I almost lost my job because I was so tired and fed up I couldn't concentrate.

P.S. If it's the sort of thing the Police should know about tell them.

If they don't want to come out ring them once, then again to insist, then the third time get somebody else to ring (say the wife) and tell them there is no need to come out as it was being dealt with as somebody has just gone out with a big dog and a chainsaw ...... I assure you they will be there in double quick time ..... I did just that .... twice!!

my parents are pretty tolarent to be honest and it would take a hell of a lot to wind them up, both my parents have been met with foul mouthed abuse just when they have aske for the music to be turned down

i mean they are mental! they burnt there house once in a massive argument between themselvs! and they always keep my mum up as they always argue untill 4 am etc.
we have are ways of getting them back lol

phone the police, talk to other neigbours that would be able to hear whats going on etc, people power!
next time get your parants to get you and the boys round to ask them to be quiet, people act differntly to differnt people if you know what i mean! lol

If it's noise then they are definately in contrivention of the clause that states 'you are entitled to enjoy your property without harasment'.

You really need to get a few of the neighbours together ans all complain, in writing, to the local council. The council has a duty of care to it's residents .... part of what you pay rip-off tax for .... I meant council tax.

If there is a strong enough feeling with all the neighbours they will be forced to do something, a lone voice is no good.

Foul language constitutes anti-social behaviour in all cases, just make sure you get some of it on tape. If your parents feel to threatened to confront them then they are entitled to get somebody else to do that for them, but it has to be legal representatives .... such as council or housing officers.

This is the problem I had and it can be dealt with ..... will take ages, be heart breaking in the process and there will be plenty of tears. You just have to be their for them and help in any way you can.

What you must not do is get directly involved as if you get aggressive you'l find yourself in front of the judge for threatening behaviour and that will do you no good and even less so for your parent's case!

Photos, video, recodings and notes .... a PITA but evidence that can't be refuted in court.

Somebody I once knew was having problems with a neighbour. Their neighbour took to leaving a cement mixer running with bricks in it during the day, while he was trying to sleep after night shifts. In return he began phoning them in the middle of night. He found out that so long as he told them who was calling, and why he wanted to talk to them (it was to discuss their behaviour), he couldn't get into trouble for making nuisance calls.

I don't know if that is the correct legal situation, but I loved his approach towards them.

i have a lot of experience with this too neil , iagree with the take notes mark down all times and what the prob was , call the council noise problem service every time theres a problem , they have to respond in the end and they have to bring noise measuring equipment in the end ,and then go round there and take the hi fi or do something , this is law . the sooner you get making observations ,the sooner they will be forced to do something ,but they are slow as roger says ...a letter to the hs owner that you are proceeding down this route with the council , that definately gets to the owner ,stessing how its devaluing his hs , may be worth a go first ,,,but whatever get recording data as soon as possible .

As you work in the council can't you chat up someone in enviromental health to go round and measure the noise?

Failing that send them a parcel full of bee's...
