My car has a weird oil pressure problem, any advise to overcome this problem would be really helpful!

If the car hasn't been running for a few days it won't give any oil pressure after starting, no matter how often I start the car.

The only way to get oil pressure again is to remove the oil pipe that runs from the block to the filter housing, then put a little bit of oil in the hole where the oil pipe is connected to the block. If I attach the pipe again and start the engine I suddenly do have oil pressure.

During normal running, or if the engine has not been running for a few hours the oil pressure is absolutely normal.

Does anyone have a clue wwhat causes this problem?

Id agree with danboy, the pump lobes could be worn, and loose pressure if any air gets in maybe??
