Hi, i have my MBC now, but i cant find b12's thread anywhere, could it have been lost in the forum changeover?

I just wanted to know where to connect it inline with, its the one discussed in that thread from ebay. My aim is to keep the car at a constant 7psi all the time, at least until i get the head modified for lower compression. Ive removed the ECU, but left the other pipe that loops round from the T piece to the turbo.

Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt
Previous engine: STD metro turbo, megajolt

hey matey !

I gather that you put the MBC between the Turbo and the Actuator

the other end that went to the BleedValve and ECU you bkank off ..

With the MBC you can preset the pressure at which the valve opens .... That way you can stop the actuator and waste gate doing anything ... until the valve opens ...

For know ; I am just running a normal bleed valve in the car so I can work out what PSI I am happy with ..... ran about 8-9 @ the weekend !!

oh ive got you, so its determining sort of what power it kicks in at?

The other pipe that you mention to blank off, can i run that in car to my boost guage?

Exactly;

It will not allow anypressure up to the Actuator; so basically you are bypassinging it ( kind off) UNTIL the MBC opens say at 9PSI ;;; the actuator will work straight away ...

I think this is also good because I have heard of Waste Gate Creep ; which is something that this will avoid !

AS for the boost gaugue on the other pipe ; that would not work ; there is never any pressure there until the MBC opens ! and I dont think it would be very accurate anyway as the pressure build up in the plenum

you know ; the boost gauge fits between the plenum and the fuel regulator that would be most accurate as the fuel regulator uses this measurement to increase fuel pressure to be greater than whats in the Plenum

My god I actually sound like I know what I am talking about

Please someone knee me in the bollox if I am talking crap

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Swift knee to the bollox,

measure the boost at the inlet as this is what the engine is seeing and is what is important *smiley*

fuel pressure comes off the plenum as it doesnt want the vacuum you get in the inlet.

Ouch ,,,,

but thanx

I am right about the MBC though

but slightly wrong regarding the boost gaugue (ISH !!!)

I think the Metro measured the boost between the lenum and the regulator ..

but I understand what you mean about measuring @ the inlet
some boost gaugues measure - and + boost ( like a vacum gaugue I suppose !)

I could tee off from where my brake servo is with a boost gaugue then ? at the moment I run my DV frojm there ;

I am going to start anothe rthread on this one I think

Where to connect your boost gaugue ?

Iain I am going to get some frozen peas to put on my Knackers as they are throbing !!

Boost guages are just a pressure gauge, +ve being boost, -ve being vacuum *smiley*

Metro took it off the plenum, that correct but it never actually had a boost gauge as such.

Only doing what you asked mate *happy*
