i should be picking up the stuff i got off ebay this week *tongue*
seeing as only ?100 of my initial budget has gone on getting it started i can already think about taking the block to an engine builder and get some work done on it...
is a four bolt centre main strap needed or do i just want to get a stronger 2 bolt one fitted?
i guess 4 bolt might be a bit ott??

Yes a bit ott, Morspeed fit a 2 bolt for around ?20..

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Engine builder i use says dont bother. The casting is more than enough for what you need. He builds top engines. Just another opinion.

My mates use to rev to 9k and that was fine.

I'm thinking of getting a 4 bolt for my race-engine. Minispares don't sell them anymore, who does?
Where did you guys get them from?

MED but I believe Morspeed was getting some done as well

2 Bolt strap excellent for use in the pub but 4 bolt and a line bore makes all the difference

I think i saw your engine in MED once tom while i was sorting out the head they supplied that blew into the water jacket.

Is it a linered block you have there?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

minispares 2 extra long HT bolts and the strapping plate under a tenner

you then need a good friend to machine the centre cap flat!
with the minumum of cut which gets the job done

the centre main usually ends up around 42mm to 43mm in height. which is spot on for the minispares bolts & strapping plate.
