I tore down a n/a 1275 engine last year for spares and found the idler gear to be scrap along with the transfer casing also the crank seems to have some odd wear on it.

between the two lines the surface is very shiny with a minute/negligable wear ridge, is this where the primary gear has been left to spin on the crank for a long time and will the crank still be fine to use?

as you say it is where the primary has been spinning on the crank, either due to a lot of traffic/stop start work or morlikely some old duffer that slips the clutch all the time
(like the neghbour my mate had that used to jet through a clutch every 6 or so months in his triumph aclaim! we nicknamed him "Revver Ron" LOL)

as long as theres not too much wear i'd use it.
