hey chaps, got the car all running now and set the timing to 12 deg at 1500 rpm. got the mot on tuesday and just wondering if there is a good way to set the mixture roughly so its not gona lean out on the way to the test centre, ive got it running very rich at the mo?
also the oil temp gauge is reading 55 degrees c and the water temp is around 85, thats running the engine for around 10 mins at tick over.
are these temps ok cuz it seems bloody hot for only 10 mins running time.
cheers chaps

no didnt rebuild the carb and not checked fuel pressure. could not get hold of the rebuild kit at the time.
would this cause it to get very hot tho?
