Anyone running 1.5 roller rockers on a standard metro turbo set up ?

I ask coz it seems like a pretty quick way to gain few more horses without changing cams

1.5 rockers lift the valve 1.5 times higher than the cam lobe lifts the follower/pushrod, i think standard is circa 1.3.

so the benefits are a higher valve lift using the same cam timing and duration allowing in more air to to gulped up by your air hungry a series..

pretty much it!

Hope that helps?

Somewhere around Swindon

full rollers are supposed to relive side loadings

i belive titan are the best but im sure people here can confirm this

Titan and Windsor are hands down the best.

Yes Wolfie, they roll accross the top of the valve putting less load on the valve and guide. This causes less wear and friction so more power essentially, would guess the power gained is tiny but everytiny bit counts in racing.

I've run 1.5 rockers on a standard and tuned engine.
I wouldn't bother with full roller rockers, roller tipped rockers are all that's needed.
The roller tip relieves side loading on the valve stem, increasing valve guide life. This becomes more even beneficial as higher lift cams are used.

remember that the std 'turbo' twin springs are not suitable for 1.5 rockers and a cam with any more lift than standard...

Why woul dyounot use them on their own ??
they would get more air/fuel into those chambers ; and allow xchaust gas more time to get out ?

Surely thats worth a few horse power ?

I would on a turbo, but a nat-asp; a cam change is much greater benefit...

1.5 rockers are fine on the Turbo standard valve springs, as long as the standard cam is retained.
