I think I've just soiled myself!

A mate of mine got some quotes for the proper interceptor body kit (nose cone, flares, both spoilers etc) and it's really pricy! Making a mock one would cost a lot. There was an XB hardtop in a scrap yard near us too but nothing became of the plans. Would rather have a normal XA coupe with a real blower to be honest!

are there many of this cars? i whould love to have one if it was cheap , then get the bodykit when i can aford it.

Not getting an Audi John.... Going to drive the F150 instead. It's old, it's slow - but I like driving it in the same way as driving an old range rover... $500 a month is going straight to the mortgage company instead.

All the fibreglass bits are still available for sale in Oz, but theres more fibreglass on the car than you think. The wings and even the bonnet are made to match the nose cone and the arches are added on. The wheels are available still too and I think the guy with the body kits has the fake blower to suit. I saw a nice Falcon go for AUS$7k a while ago, too nice a car to do that to though. The full kit to mock up the car is well into the thousands, I think AUS$4-6k.

what a crime if the charger is only for show. still a quality bit of kit!!!

Hey it was the '80s! It's ugly but it's famous, like most celebrities out there!

It's a Falcon, haha.

If I wanted to see one I'd drive down the hill, and around the corner and there it would be. Well not the Mad Max one but any other one.

The 2 door falcon looks nice but they can't handle. They may have the straight line with the big V8 but that's it. Ford made thier GT then they made the GTHO (Most people agree, HO stands for Handling Option, not High Output.) Now that was a good car, won Bathurst (big Aussie race) in 1968 for the first time then a few times later I think.

Back to Mini's, the Cooper S won in 66. What a great year!

Ah but the XA-XC are good looking coupes whereas the XY isn't! The GTHO was the fastest accelerating 4 door in the world at the time too. But when all is said and done nothing is quite so nice as the following...

The Torana was a good idea, well not for a teenager but for racing. Leightweight body (light for a big car) with big V8.

I'm a little biased, I do however have respect for classics though.

But you see I live up the hill in a 'rural' area but only 10 mins drive from the most 'bogan' suburb in Adelaide. Where Holdens Commodore (mainly 'cos they are built here) an Fords Falcons hoon around and do 'fuly sik burnouts bro' all the time. So the total dickhead factor of Falcons and Commodores is what I don't like. The older ones fall less into this trap and an early 90s V6 'Commi' is quicker anyway. And smokes a single back wheel much 'sikker'.

Oh I know Bogans and Hoons very well don't worry! Most of my mates at school went on to be bogans. But thankfully most of them sorts have left Toranas alone and are into newer Commodores. Now it's commodores with the image problem!
