Just bought this with my brother (squinty) for a new project car.

We already have a metro turbo engine, just need to sort a decent gear box and a few other bits out.

It should be finished off sometime this year hopefully.

Should be fun once it's completed

Here's a few pictures of the bits that we've put together so far, hopefully i'll get some good ones of the shell when i get it out of the garage.

Metro front mounted radiator and fan

Cylinder head ported to around 29cc on the combustion chambers & tapped for the heater matrix

Starmag 7x13 alloys, have two spares as two on the car are slightly buckled. Thinking of using them for slicks for 1/4 mile runs if they can be straightened out

Center console and gauges

Cosworth 2wd intercooler, actuator, pre-verto clutch slave cylinder, flywheel bolt & extended arm

Gaskets, braided master cylinder to slave cylinder hose & engine mounts

Lightened clutch back plate, AP rally plate, grey pressure plate & clutch release bearing

Spec-r breather tank

Ultra light flywheel with pre-engaged ring gear

Straight cut 1.1 drop gears

Central oil pick up pipe

Carbon fibre dash & clocks/gauges

I'll keep things updated as progress is made.

looks very good, just make sure you use the proper turbo exhaust/inlet gasket as the one in the pic will blow in no time at all..

Looks a nice project, however for your first assignment you need to move the fuel pump, the metro turbo pumps are not designed to lift fuel on their inlet side, and won't happily do so, the pump needs to be below the tank to get a gravity fed supply of fuel to its inlet.

Hi Guys,

Haven't been around for a while anyways. The cylinder head was done by Ivor Searle and before anyone says there is no squish etc etc They followed the info I sent them. As a newbe I wasn't that clued up. But I'm after high boost on standard pistons so cheapest way I figured.

I had a feeling that the fuel pump needed to be gravity fed. It was like that when I brought it. There is space in the old battery box for me to put it there. Would this be a good idea? Would be free from water road salt and anything that might cause damage . The only down side I can think of is the noise if its in a small space could use dynomat stuff people use when doing sound installs.

The battery is going to be on the passenger side by where the back seat used to be for weight distribution Gel filled one in a sealed battery box.

Is there something wrong with my oil pick up pipe? Just wanted to post everything I had got a few more goodies such as heat wrapped inlet and exhaust manifold along with carb heat shield to stop heat transfer want those charge temps as low as I can get them. Also got myself a water injection tank thinking 50 50 mix water alcohol.

Don't think this is common to do on the a series but thought Id give it a go help lower the charge temps some more plus added octane and keeps valves pistons and chambers clean as the steam produced in combustion steam cleans it and the A series is known to coke up causing det and engines to run on once switched off.
