On my minus I am wanting to make a relief in the bulkhead to allow a little clearance, and air circ' around the turbo, also not too happy on the fibre glass being that close to that much heat.
My problem is the profile of my bulkhead is different to a steel mini (with the shell being 3" less in height) I have no inner wings as such, and absolutly bugger all to use as a datum.
So would one of you kind gents have a measure of the position of your weld in boxes in relation to the two towers (a measurement from either side to the edge of the box) and a measurement from the section of the subby that runs between the two towers to the lowest horrizontal edge of your box please, would prefefe to have the measurement taken off a mk1 subby if anyone is using one, failing that any will do,
Thanks guys
Shane.

As I sad before, anything you have in a steel mini bay to use as a datum is in a different position in the minus, so its no help, thats why I was wanting some measurements in relation to the subframe.

Is the brake & clutch master cylinders in the normal place? Daft question, but is the bulkhead steel or fibreglass?

the pedal box sits (as you look into the bay) more to the right than on a steel mini, the bulkhead is grp, which isnt the problem, I just need to know where to cut the hole for the box before I set to moulding one.

showing my mini inexperience. Wish I could help, but I have a metro which doesn't help.
I think its roughly an inch or so from the brake/clutch cylinders on a standard mini.
Shame engine isn't fitted....at least you would some kind of orientation of where turbo goes to mark it up.

Lol that doesnt help as my clutch and brake cylinders are in a different position, I really need the measurements taken idealy from the inside edges of the subframe towers and the horizontal section that joins the two, thanks for your help tho.
Shane.

OK Shane here we go.
In the attached picture the following are the dimensions in mm.
Master cyl silver plate to top Left hand corner of turbo bulkhad box is 40mm
Widest point of subframe tower ( it's curved) to bottom Left Hand corner of turbo bulkhead box is 210 mm.
From bottom of Turbo bulkhead box to centre section of sub frame (parallel to turbo box) is 70 mm.
I have done all dimensions from the brake/clutch master cyl side as there may be differences on the other side due to different actuator installations.
Sorry there is a carb air box compartment as well as the turbo box,
I think I may be Bi- sexual
Hope this helps, If not get back to me.
Regards
Dave
Sorry about the picture quality!

Nice install there danboy.....damn bi-sexuals!
At the end of the bulkhead, opposite end to the brakes etc make more of an angle. Makes abit more clearance for actuators.

I will be running an over the clutch installation so it won't be a problem. Other things will be fitted in the turbo box.

Also Dave could you do me the favour of next time your with your car, could you measure from either side of the box to the centres of the subframe tower bolts please!
Many thanks

OK Shane here are the dimensions you want.
Drivers side bolt c/l to box is 290mm.
Passenger side bolt c/l to box is 110mm.
Should be accurate to within a couple of mm.
I think the box I used was an Avonbar one although I can't be sure as it came in a job lot.
It does look different to yours but you should be able to figure where it needs to be from the info you now have.

Dave
