Single as standard, duplex is a worthwhile and easy upgrade though, remember to countersink the two bolts near the crankshaft and use 1/4" UNF countersunk screws to clear the crank gear, apart from this its a direct swap, also whilst you are at it replace the rubber tensioner buffer pad with a new one, only a few pounds for the part.

do as tom says, its only a case of an hour or two to drop the engine and make it very easy. otherwise i reckon it should be possible with the engine in and an angle drill but i wouldnt like doing it. |

It is possible with engine in, once the old chain and cover etc is off, it is only a couple more bolts to remove the steel front plate, you can then countersink it on the bench before refitting it with a new gasket.
