well came back from casa el benross with my new head and ported maniflods, and uprated elbow !!! fantastic work yet again Steve, i have taken some pics of it just to let you see what you get !

Tried to give you an idea of the amount it has been opened up with the 20p's *wink* i believe mine is 51mm right through !!!!!!

i polished it further with solvo autosol when i got back, just because i am that sad !!!

here is a couple of pics of the head, Steve can you put the spec on for me, when you rang i couldnt find a pen psml

looks great, good work Steve. What kind of power increase should you see from the ported maniflod, and uprated elbow?

to be fair iam not sure, but cosworth used to do this mod before it was known and the mod helped towards a nice bannana count...... i believe the purpose of it is to allow exhaust gases to flow away from the turbo without the gases becoming turbulent and working back towards the turbo (bottleneck) which i have heard in rare cases can stall the turbo......not sure though this info is like 60th hand old.

I can belive 9bhp if it is fitted with a Maniflow down pipe at the same time as the stock Mety down pipe would be a bit restrictive with that done to the elbow, next weekest link and all that.

9bhp is less than 10% which is what most zorst manufactures like to claim for an aftermarket performance system correctly installed.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

my head spec is:
35.6mm inlets 214n stainless race valves 29.5mm sodium ex valves silica bronze guides reamed

180 pound double springs rpm potential 7500
ported D shaped ex ports

my manifolds have been ported out to match the head, and the elbow opened up to 51mm the down pipe is maniflow item and the zaust is stainles side exit playmini. I intend to run 12-14psi boost
the block is 1275 and me cooler is 4x4 cossie. anyone any ideas of what realistic BHP i should achieve. i will be going over to MJLJ

sounds good richi, same sort of spec i want my head and manifold done to.
are you going to rev it to 7500rpm??? or just stay at a safe 6500rpm? what cr are you running?

one thing iv just thought, the head i want to have this done to eventualy has had the unleaded conversion done to it. but the valves are the standerd turbo size, so when you open them up the hardend seat would need to come out wont it? and therefore making it leaded again? if thats the case then bugger! lol

cant remember Steve worked it out for me, summit like 8.5:1 using 83021 metty turbo pistons, and BK450 gasket. he opened the chambers up on the head to get me compression down.

as for ure question on valve seats best ask Steve that one mate *wink*
