im currently restoring my jet black have decided to de-bumper it change from a round nose flippy to a clubby group 2 arches and 12" inch deep dish minilights.

the bit ive got trouble with is the engine and what parts i need.

im going for a 998 turbo im not going for stupid amounts of bhp jus summin thats a bit of fun that can still be used as my daily run around.

i want to get it done on a very small budget and within a couple of months. so i need cheap parts that are easy to get hold of. i dont mind buying rebuild kits for parts if need be.

this is what im thinkin
12g940
t2 turbo
lightened flywheel
turbo clutch plate
my straight through rc 40 exhaust
theres a place that can do a custom down pipe if need be but thats not exactly cheap.
minispares turbo cam unless theres summin better

the problem ive got is i cant find any t2's. ive found some on fiestas but aparently they wont fit. am i right in understanding that t3 is too much for a 998.

im aware that i will need to pocket the block.

im new to the turbo scene so will prob ask a fair few questions

I'd start by reading this current thread:

I would not use the 940 head, find a 295. I'm using a standard 295 on mine.

Also be careful with the turbo cam. It may work in the 1275 but probably too much for a 998.

If your engine is in poor condition though, it will not last long. Same for your gearbox and diff.

There are some R5GTT T2s available on ebay, plus some rebuild kits at the moment.
