Yep it is getting close...

If you like cars and beer this is your thing.

This is my 3rd year on the trot.

I expect other TM members to be there, I met up with Ben and Will H and there other halves in 2005 for a trackside beer.

Looks like Peugeot are having a battle with Audi this year, both running diesels!..Wads of torque and very fuel efficient so less pit stops..Great engineering, and they are almost silent!

Some good links..

Some Le mans tips..

You can buy camping tickets on arrival

You can also buy entry tickets on arrival

Buy beers and food from big super market on route, cheap as chips.

Some campsites do not have showers so take some Baby Wet wipes!

Eateries in the HUGE! circuit are not that good, expensive fast food realy, find a nice little restaurant just out of the circuit, it will be packed with other petrol heads, 8 euro or so gets you steak, chips and salad

If you can fit it in take a pedal bike, a great way on getting about and the circuit is huge and gets gridlocked with traffic.

Make sure you watch some night racing, glowing red brake discs, flaming exhaust are great to watch combined with the awsome engine/transmission sounds.

Pack a coolbox/bag

Pack a paddling pool, trust me.

Pack a bottle opener

And have fun!

Can't make it this year. Mainly because me and will have young kids (3 months and 13 months.) I reckon in a couple of years we will be back, it really is a great weekend.

Not this year, maybe not next year, but some time soon I shall return.

We were discussing it only last night as it happens.

Enjoy, you lucky bastards!

I've been going for the last 12 years... until last year when my son arrived on the 9th of June! Bit of a stretch to get there in time. I can back up other comments that it is a must see event for anyone vaguely into cars.

Was thinking of going this year, but the lure of the Nurburgring is calling so I think the lads are going there instead. Only managed one passout without the family so looks like I'll have to leave it for a year..... maybe see you next year.

Nick.

Love to go, but racing finances made a dent in wallet. :(
My dad went in the 60's said it was awesome! Ment to be a good crowd there, and plenty of beer!

Well i have been meaning to go for the past few years but the powers to be of the race series i run cars in seem to clash a meeting every year with Le Mans, but at least i shall have some time off to go round the old Nurbergring after qualifying on Saturday.

well i made it!!!

ran out of fuel on the way there, not my fault as i was not driving at the time and had said to fill up at the last stop, but my friend thought better. as luck had it one of the other cars had taken fuel for the generator so used that.

then got to Le Mans, emptied the mini and took it for a spin round the track. next day drove to the supermarket and came out to find the rad leaking. found a rover dealer and got a new rad.

only saw about 6 minis including mine in the week i was there.
